Elina Nechayeva

Elina Nechayeva (also spelled Netshajeva or Netšajeva) was born in Tallinn. Her family has Estonian, Russian, and Chuvash roots, contributing to her talent for languages; she is fluent in Estonian, Russian, English, French, and Italian. Elina sang for 15 years in the choir ‘Raduga.’ She completed her education at the French Lyceum in Tallinn in 2011 and furthered her studies in Georg Ots’s class at the preparatory course at the Tallinn Music School. From 2011 to 2014, Elina pursued singing at the Tallinn Institute of the Arts in Eda Zahharova’s class. In 2016, she graduated from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theater with a Master’s degree in classical singing.

Elina stands out from others with her cheerfulness and impeccable styling. She has twice competed in the TV show ‘Eesti otsib superstaari,’ and in 2014, she finished among the top three finalists in the ‘Klassikatähed 2014′ competition. Elina has actively participated in various song competitions in Estonia and abroad. In 2010, she secured the first place in the Schools’ Russian Ballad competition. At the International Classical Vocal competition in Kohtla-Järve, she earned the III Prize and the title of laureate in the older age group. In the 2013 Tallinn Song Contest for Young Singers, she clinched the 1st prize for Songwriting.

Elina furthered her musical education at the opera studio at Conservatorio di Milano, Italy. In 2015, she won the II Prize at the Singing Competition in Pärnu. During 2015-2016, she made guest appearances at the Estonian Drama Theater in ‘Kaart ja territoorium.’ Notably, in 2017, Elina reached the finale of the international competition ‘Neue Stimmen,’ successfully representing Estonia.

In addition to collaborating with EZMA Music Agency, Elina works with ‘Eesti Kontsert’ and Professor Helin Kapten at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theater. She regularly performs concerts both domestically and internationally. Elina showcased her hosting skills as one of the hosts for the semi-finals of Eesti Laul 2017, alongside Marko Reikop.

A dedicated professional, Elina aspires to grace the largest opera stages worldwide. She takes meticulous care of her powerful instrument—her voice—and kick-starts her mornings with a yoga session and a jog. Opting for walks whenever possible, she substitutes coffee with dark chocolate as her secret energizer. Perhaps the most crucial aspect of her health routine is her commitment to staying happy and positive!

When Elina finds a moment to relax, she indulges her passion for animation. A devoted fan of classic Disney Princess cartoons and Japanese Anime, particularly those by Hayao Miyazaki, she embraces both the enchanting and the artistic. A significant classical music enthusiast, Elina cites Mozart and Tchaikovsky among her favorite composers. She appreciates the clear structure of Mozart’s music and the passion and rich soul found in Tchaikovsky’s compositions, reflecting the two sides of her vivid personality—playful, yet formidable.

In her childhood, Elina dreamt of becoming an astronaut, soaring amidst the stars and planets. This same drive inspired ‘La Forza.’ On the Eurovision stage, Elina takes flight among the stars, conveying her message that love has the power to heal and uplift. The melody of ‘La Forza’ was crafted specifically for her voice and radiant personality. Less than three months after the 100th anniversary of Estonian Independence, Elina aims to give her beloved homeland another reason to be proud and celebrate.

Elina Nechayeva co-wrote the lyrics of ‘La Forza’ with fellow soprano Ksenia Rossar. The music was composed by Mihkel Mattisen, a classically trained pianist and pop singer-composer, along with Timo Vendt, a producer and multi-instrumentalist.
